Floral Prints

Here are some pieces I have done with different medias. The 1st is ink on material. Its not a detailed flower design but I like the way the colours are quite bright.

The next two images are with ink I sprayed onto the paper after I had applied some special material glue that can peepl off when dry, this is what i got from it.

The last is a drawing/painting I did using water pencils. The scan didn't come out very well but I like using these pencils as you can blend the shades better.

Canvas's

I have painted two canvas, one with a pair of roller skates another of a beetle. The reason is cause I did think of putting a beetle on the shirt or a Vauxall Caravan but I just really loved the skates. I enjoyed painting the canvas's and love the outcome of the beetle. The other canvas was from the shells I collected after going away I thought it came out pretty well.

T-Shirt Design

One design site I looked at was to design a T-Shirt (www.threadless.com). I looked at some designs already and some were really great with catchy clever phrases. I hand drew my design and Haven't got access to Illustrator or Photoshop making it sooo much more difficult.

My final design was of roller skates, I was going to put ribbon through as laces but decided against it as it may have ruined the fabric.

I was going to put lines as tracks from the wheels going down the shirt but decided againt it as i thought would be too much so instead I just added text under teh left skate.

Hallmark Gift Bag

I have looked at competitions over the holiday and decided to do the Hallmark Gift Bag one. below are some ideas I came up with.
I decided to go for a small bag as its glamours dazzling theme and it just made me think of jewllery so my bag will be an appropriate size for that side of the market.

I stuck to just two - three colours so it didn't get too fussy. I chose a turquiose blue and silvers. My final design is a flower but I know that is quite a common thing to do and I did like some of the other ideas I had but the flower will be made from materials and include diamante pieces in the centre. As now it is different to others cause it is more 3D.

Lets relax

Here are two cushion covers I have made, I tend to prefer using materials quite alot and am really happy how they have turned out. I like the retro flower one more think it has more too it than the other. I sewed sequins and buttons onto this one and used stiching to enhance the outline or inner circle of the flowers. With the other i added buttons rather than a zip to add for more decoration.

Greeting and Gift Cards

One of the first things I really got into was creating cards for all events, I really enjoyed it and poeple seemed to liek getting more personal cards. Here are some that I have made for different occasions.

Crazy Keyrings

While in Spain I totally forgot I found these keyrings!! I only bought three, but just thought they were really amusing and different.

Full Glass

I had a glass paint set as a gift and spent some time doing some glasses!! Some glasses turned out better than others but it makes them look so much more intersting. I made each one different.

Been away a while.... look what i found

Ok I'v been really busy lately so haven't really posted, however while I was away I got some good images, postcards from spain and some photo's I took. Below are some postcards I bought while in spain and have scanned in, I really love the one with pants and top on the line, I think it is unique compared to the others. All of them are quite different and these certain ones caught my eye.
Below are some photo's I took myself while away. the first too were actullay of me and my boyfriend at the harbour but both times my camera took twice and I LOVED the outcome thought they were sooooo cool!

The next two are of paintings we found on the wall while going through one of the towns, I have seen them before but these had loads of detail and looked really remarkable.
The last photo I thought was good beacuse I like the scenery and the way the bench kind of works with it.

Taster of what I like...

I love Alex Pardee's work!! I just think it's really unusual and some of his illustrations are really bizarre. I wouldn't say he inspires my work cause its not my kind of style but I still think what he does is great.

You can see more of his work and technique at http://www.eyesuckink.com/

Another illustrator is Sophie Robert, I just really like how they are quite simple butthe technique is quite nice...

Autumn Whitehurst has some amazing work. I really love her technique the pieces look so real.
